With the release of the new tune “Stargazing,” which he collaborated on with British singer-songwriter Leo Stannard, Nicky Romero makes a comeback as his underground alter ego Monocule. With this album, Monocule departs from his tech- and house-inspired sound and adopts a more natural and melodic yet still deeply advanced vibe.
Stannard’s soulful vocals and gently swaying melodies set the tone for “Stargazing,” which then leads listeners on a cinematic and emotive build into organic, deep basslines that seem to disappear into the night. Monocule last released “On My Mind” with Tim van Werd earlier this year, and this summer, Nicky Romero has released quite a few energetic tunes. Leo Stannard’s sought-after vocals have graced labels, including Armada Music, Toolroom Records, Musical Freedom, Sony Music, Ultra Records, and more.
