Not only music: ARC Festival announces art installations

The ARC Music Festival has revealed its official ARC Art installation partners, along with details on a production contest hosted by Gene Farris and official set schedules, just days before its return to Chicago’s Union Park on September 2-4.

Since its inception in 2021, ARC has taken pleasure in offering a completely comprehensive festival experience in Chicago. The event’s art program this year has increased tenfold and includes a variety of enormous artworks. Michael Benitsy, who is renowned for using brutalist metallic techniques to depict the human form and emotion, will bring to ARC his twenty-one-foot-tall, fire-emitting, mirror-finished steel sculpture called “Rise.”

Chris Carnabuci, a wood installation artist, maintains similar ideas in his 26-foot Mariposita installation, which was initially made for the 2019 Burning Man festival.

As they present their “Circle of Light” installation, Toy Studio will bring its distinctively multicolored flair to the event. This work was inspired by the entire color spectrum and how each one interacts with the sun from dawn to night.

The ‘Lions of Steel’ gothic miniatures by ‘Reared in Steel’ round off the ARC Art programming.
