Jake Kaiser Pai EP Purified
All the way from San Francisco, producer Jake Kaiser makes his debut on Nora En Pure‘s imprint Purified with the three-track EP Pai.
Marking his 4th release in 2020, Pai EP is a collection of cinematic sounds and deep and melodic themes that remind us of the calm of the uncontaminated nature. From this feeling, the EP kicks off with Koh Kut, inspired by untouched Thailand’s island of Ko Kut. Bringing together organic and rolling percussions with a plucked and cinematic arpeggio, the record flows through soft and intimate melodic lines spaced out by dreamy sounds. Composed of airy synths, crisp percussion, and deep bassline the tune is laid-back creation, which glides across an intricate sonic landscape.
Second tune on the EP, we can find Loonwhich slows down the tempo with a stripped melodic lines which gracefully ebbs and flows across a gliding bassline. The main theme creates a perfect bridge between the beloved melodic-techno style and the deep vibes we’re used to hearing on Purified. Blended together with natural and environmental sounds such as flowing water and birds’ noises, Loon perfectly creates a link between the opening and the closing track of the EP.
Last but not least, the title track Pai completes this fantastic 3-track collection. With a darker and more solid beat. Pai winks at the techno world with its simple but effective main melodic theme. The minimal beats and that dark and deep baseline perfectly work on the darker clubs as well as on bigger stages. Exudes a darker tone, employing a dominant melodic synth and dramatic percussion, Pai uses contrasting sporadic synths and a soaring chopped up vocal; this layered creation has already made a big impact in Nora En Pure’s recent sets.
