Oscar L lands on Factory 93 with ‘Arena / Utopia’

The Madrid-based producer touches down Factory 93 with a pair of club-focused techno cuts.

Spanish DJ and producer Oscar L debuts on the iconic techno-driven Insomniac imprint, Factory 93 with double single Arena/Utopia.

Oscar L doesn’t require an introduction; he has been making waves in the international techno scene for more than 15 years. His productions are distinguished by a very distinctive sound that simultaneously blends conventional and unusual influences. On his debut EP for Factory 93 Records, Oscar brings together thumping percussion, playful synth work, and keen attention to detail to create two monster tracks that have been tearing up dancefloors throughout 2022.

The track “Arena” is a wild journey that builds tension throughout while occasionally dipping into unsettlingly dark grooves. The various sections are wound together by a hefty midrange synth that fluctuates and oscillates chaotically, shifting to half-time permutations that seem to slow down time itself.

Utopia” is more straightforward arrangement-wise, starting off strong and leading into a big breakdown that’s characterized by shuffling arpeggios and an ethereal, ghostly vocal. Before crashing back into the bass and drums that underline Oscar’s more intricate ear candy elements, the mix becomes awash in reverb.

“‘Arena’ and ‘Utopia’ are two tracks that break the dancefloor,” says Oscar L. I believe they are a perfect fit for Factory93’s mission to provide its audience with an unforgettable experience.

The newest album from Oscar L, “Arena / Utopia,” is available from Factory 93 Records on all platforms.
