Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has announced the addition of a new stage in 2024: Quasar. It will feature exclusive extended 3+ hour sets.
Leading the charge is the Australian electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL, who will take the stage for an unprecedented 3+ hour set.
Adding to the excitement, the stage will also host exclusive back-to-back sets from electronic music titans.
We’re super excited to introduce Quasar to Coachella – says to us Jenn Yacoubian from Goldenvoice – It’s going to be a stage where we can book talent on it in a way that we haven’t felt like we’ve been able to in the past. We’re looking at it as a traditional kind of DJ stage. Quasar is gonna be where Sahara previously was. The thinking was we wanted people to be able to see a longer format DJ set. Coachella will have the debut exclusive mind-bending b2b set from Eric Prydz and Anyma. The two have already collaborated on songs but this will be the first time they’ll play on the same stage together. Considering the insane shows and visuals we are used to seeing from both, this Eric Prydz x Anyma could be the event of the year.
The legendary house music icons Honey Dijon and Green Velvet will play b2b.
The lineup also includes a special 3+ hour DJ set from Michael Bibi, a b2b2b between Jamie XX, Floating Points, and Daphni.
The stage design. How Quasar will look like
Heather Shaw, Vita Motus Design Studio, explained to us what the stage will look like.
This is the actual stage design. We have two monolithic LED walls. They have dimension to it that will be scenic thanks to the mirror so that it feels like it’s also part of the environment. So we’ll be looking to create innovative 3d worlds and then we’re using real-time content playback in the media laws. There are things I haven’t told you we’ve been looking at different unique ideas for Coachella and have wanted to push the limits with real-time content and what this will open up is pretty wild and amazing – Heather Shaw

Coachella 2024 between new stages, new artists and more
The Quasar new stage is only the latest of Coachella’s surprises. Just last week Goldenvoice announced a series of Pool Parties during Coachella’s week.
Do LaB will also bring a new look to its stage, coming back to its roots. The lineup for the Do LaB stage has also been announced with certain gems.
If you feel more underground tent, Coachella’s Yuma Tent has revealed a series of incredible names on the 2024 lineup.
Be prepared for a renewed Sahara Tent too.
