Today, Sonny Fodera and Marten Hrger release their debut collaboration, “Levitate,” via Insomniac Records. Marten Hrger’s debut with Insomniac, and Fodera’s first release with the label since his full-length 2019 LP Rise. “Levitate” is a vintage warehouse-inspired groover that closes off 2023 in big style. It is filled to the brim with classic house chord progressions, blazing percussion, and captivating vocal samples.

“Levitate” begins with reverberating synth chords and is followed by the track’s central vocal chant. It repeats “Listen to the sound/We levitate, we levitate/Go listen to the sound/We levitate/Go higher, higher,” a call to action for dancefloor dwellers.
The tune starts with claps and stuttering percussion before dropping into a thundering four-on-the-floor kick drum. It continues the hypnotic main synth chord melody. “Levitate” then contains dazzling hi-hats, and an amen break, then returns to the beat with a panned, chopped-up voice melody in the backdrop.

Fodera has racked up a long list of accomplishments since releasing his first music at the age of 23. He has collaborated and remixed for titans such as Calvin Harris, Glass Animals, and Diplo. He did multiple sold-out tours across North America and the UK, including his recent sold-out show at London’s historic Alexandra Palace. He performed at some of the world’s biggest festivals such as Glastonbury, and Tomorrowland, and Insomniac-run events such as EDC Las Vegas.
