CAMELPHAT drop their brand new album ‘Spiritual Milk’

The multi-platinum, GRAMMY-nominated DJ and producer duo, CAMELPHAT, releases their brand-new album ‘Spiritual Milk‘ under their own label When Stars Align.

After the release of their album “Dark Matter” in 2020, “Spiritual Milk” explores the development of the duo’s innovative sound. A distinctive remark about their progress to date and their future goals. The record embraces life and never takes anything for granted now that it is out of seclusion, back in the clubs, and free to travel the world.

CamelPhat’s album Spiritual Milk

From the steady-building intro of the most recent single, “Hope,” featuring Max Milner, to the sway of “Rennen,” a collaboration with SOHN, the swirling menace of “The Sign,” featuring Anyma, the euphoric “Embers,” featuring Shimza and Julia Church, and the stomping beat of “Compute,” featuring Ali Love, which samples Kraftwerk’s iconic “Computer Love,” It is an album that showcases the duo’s meteoric rise over the past few years and how they have become a fixture on the world’s best dancefloors and festival grounds.

Their dedication to their craft, coupled with their innate ability to produce smooth, effortlessly contagious floor fillers, has further cemented their reputation as one of the most reputable and diverse electronic groups currently active. A few of the album’s standout songs, like the rumbling “Colossus” with Kölsch, the hypnotic “Many Times” collaboration with Mathame and Frnn, the soaring “Higher” with London Grammar, and the guitar-infused album conclusion “Love Is Something” ft. Jake Bugg, demonstrate their unceasing synthesis with music of many genres.

We’ve felt a lot less pressure delivering this record possibly due to the fact it’s on our label (WSA), but also we’re at a point in our career where we can possibly afford to be more expressive and less fearful about what other people think. It has definitely come from the heart and feels honest both as writers and musicians. We’ve had fun with it; we’ve made music less with the dance floor in mind and more with our emotions. The whole thing came together surprisingly very easily.  “Spiritual Milk” is a listening album that takes your mind away from everyday life. The name itself has captured the overall essence of the album perfectly.  Take the trip & enjoy the ride. – CAMELPHAT

The album’s cover art

In search of “electronic trip” and “modern psychedelic” artwork for the album cover, CAMELPHAT came across Niko Christian’s (aka c-nik) fantastical creations. Niko is a multidisciplinary artist from the US who explores the idea that you may reach heaven from any place by bringing order out of chaos in fantastical arcs of light, life, and time.
