Swedish DJ and producer Jeremy Olander is getting ready to release his long-awaited Megatron EP on Interstellar Records.

With tracks like “Megatron,” the dark and atmospheric lead single, and “Holmen,” the first release under the Insomniac Music Group label, the 4-track EP shows off Olander’s signature style.

Megatron EP in full

The EP also includes two brand-new tracks called “Fabric” and “Gygax,” which solidified the tastemaker’s place as a major figure in melodic house and techno.

Olander takes listeners on a hypnotic journey on the lead track, “Megatron.” The track builds momentum slowly with understated percussion, sweeping synths, crashing cymbals, and a progressive bassline, making the atmosphere immersive for everyone who hears it.

Each layer slowly builds up to a strong ending that sends listeners into a trance-like state.

Interstellar’s first release, “Holmen,” has a rhythm that sounds like it came from the jungle and changes into complex layers of choppy sounds and sparkling synths. As the song goes on, it changes into mesmerizing breakdowns with vague tunes.

Fabric,” the next track on the EP, is a driving electro-house experience that starts with a strong bassline and a constant, thumping beat that sounds like electronic dance music from the early 2000s.

The energetic song is full of shimmering, carefully textured shakers and buzzing synths, which is a perfect fit for its name. “Gyax” is the last track on the project. It starts with ambient melodies and slowly adds muffled vocal chants and crisp shakers, building up to a strong crescendo of whirring synths, vocal samples, and more. The project’s end is a captivating and lively arrangement that brings the long-awaited studio project to a close.

Jeremy Olander talks about the EP

As is typical of Olander’s work, Megatron’s grand and expansive soundscapes have long buildups and emotional peaks, creating a euphoric journey that goes beyond traditional electronic styles.

It feels so great to put ‘Megatron’ and the rest of the EP out with Interstellar. The track is somewhat darker than I usually make, but very thumping and driving and works a a charm in almost every set I play. – Jeremy Olander

Vivrant and Jeremy

As the first artist signed to Eric Prydz’s Pryda Friends label, Jeremy Olander began his career in electronic music with a relationship that changed the game. Together with Prydz, the sought-after producer rose to the top of the melodic house and techno scenes, playing at famous places like Madison Square Garden and Brixton Academy.

In 2014, Olander started his own record label called Vivrant to share his unique sound and help other artists with similar styles.

This made his image as an emotional and immersive producer even stronger. In 2018, Olander became the first Nordic act in the history of Cercle to appear on the prestigious film series.

They joined Solomun and Tale of Us as well as other well-known artists. This important event established his reputation as a modern electronic music pioneer and made him known all over the world.

Vivrant celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2020, with a collection full of original releases and remixes from artists like Marino Canal, Hunter/Game, Tim Engelhardt, and Coeus. This was possible because he was always trying to push the limits.

At the same time that the Megatron EP comes out, Jeremy Olander is getting ready for his summer tour, which includes stops in New York, Toronto, Stockholm, Bali, Miami, Mallorca, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and more.

The Swedish artist has already had a lot of success at festivals and was the first to release music on Interstellar Records. He is sure to have even more success in the years to come.
