Australian prodigy Marcus Santoro is back on Nicky Romero‘s imprint with trance-inspired new single Blackout featuring Lauren L’aimant.

2020 has started with the boom for Marcus Santoro; only a few days ago his remix for Grammy-nominated artists MEDUZA came out and, at the end of last year, he also landed on Axtone with an incredible single called For You. Now, he’s back with his third release on Protocol.

Blackout refreshes the trance sounds, adding new electro-inspired layers and dark and underground beats. He artistically leverages influences from progressive house, big room, and trance genres, which delivers gracefully undulating melodies, an uptempo BPM, and ethereal vocals. Marcus Santoro Blackout evokes the feeling of flying or floating, much like the trance tracks we grew to know and love in the early 2000s.

The record cames out after his debut single on the label, Shine together with Sentinel. The tune wasn’t the first record released on Protocol tho; last year he remixed Nicky Romero’s single My Way that now counts more than 3 M plays. He’s already proven to be a talented and dynamic artist in the progressive sphere and beyond, so we can’t wait to see what Marcus Santoro has up his sleeve in 2020.

Marcus Santoro Blackout has been released last Friday on Nicky Romero’s imprint; the track is available for the stream and download here or below.
