Defected Records and Maya Jama launch BACARDÍ Twitch series
The world’s most awarded rum brand has brought together iconic dance label Defected Records and DJ and presenter Maya Jama, to host a series of music events via interactive livestreaming service Twitch
BACARDÍ Rum announced the launch of BACARDÍ Spiced x Defected Presents: D-RUM Sessions, an upcoming series of live-streamed music events in collaboration with the iconic house and dance music label Defected Records. The live-streamed sessions, which are hosted on Twitch, are a first for the rum brand, which has a long history with music.
From October 22nd to November 19th, BACARDÍ Spiced x Defected Presents: D-RUM Sessions will be a five-part series live-streamed on Defected Records’ Twitch channel, including a bumper Halloween special. Defected’s Monki, Afro-house pioneer Kitty Amor, Glitterbox’s Melvo Baptiste, underground favorite and Moscow Records boss Archie Hamilton, house legend Spiller, and Club Bad founder Melé are among the stellar line-up.
BACARDÍ has enlisted the help of DJ, TV presenter, and BACARDÍ friend Maya Jama to provide an informal introduction to each session and artist. Streamed live from Defected’s recently launched, east- London headquarters, each BACARDÍ Spiced x Defected Presents: D-RUM Sessions will see a different artist from each of the label’s imprints be interviewed by Maya about the sounds and tracks that move them and how they like to spice up a party before taking to the decks to play an epic 90-minute-long set.

Each session will be the ultimate party starter, with everything rum fans need to spice up their Friday evenings – spine-tingling sets from incredible electronic artists, interviews with their favorite DJs, and, of course, demonstrations on how to make delicious BACARDÍ Spiced cocktails right in their own living rooms. The series will be set in Defected’s newly opened HQ, which is equipped with cutting-edge technology for high-quality recording, live streaming, and content creation.

World-class bartender La’Mel Clarke (of the esteemed London cocktail bar Lyaness) will be on hand to show Maya and Co. how to perfect a selection of BACARDÍ Spiced cocktails inspired by the artists’ sets. BACARDÍ Spiced is a bold, smooth drink made with natural spices, perfect for mixing in cocktails or mixing with a classic mixer like cola or ginger beer while listening to the best dance music streamed directly to your home.
