The full story

In 2008, three artists, DJs, and musicians got together to break every rule in electronic music. Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell, who make up Swedish House Mafia, added swaggering hip-hop beats, a rock ‘n’ roll attitude, and a big-screen-worthy grandeur to house music.

They brought it to life on stage with one famous live show after another.

It’s hard to think how dance music would have changed without them. They brought the culture out of warehouses and clubs and into arenas and stadiums on a huge scale.

In 2011, they were the first electronic act to lead and sell out Madison Square Garden. The next year, they were the first to play the main stage at Coachella. For the platinum hit “Save the World” in 2012 and the five-platinum Hot 100 Top 10 hit “Don’t You Worry Child” in 2013, they were nominated for two GRAMMY® awards in a row for “Best Dance Recording.”

They became very popular very quickly. Rolling Stone called it “redefining rave culture,” and NME called them “the rockstars of the dance music world.”

After the record-breaking One Last Tour, they took a five-year break.

In 2018, they came back as surprise openers for Ultra Music Festival’s 20th anniversary.

A year after the Save the World Reunion Tour, this holy trinity of electronic music gods worked on the one thing they hadn’t done yet: their full-length debut record, Paradise Again [Republic Records], which came out in 2022.

Their return was announced on the cover of Billboard and got a lot of attention right away.

They then performed the hit song “A Moth to a Flame” with The Weeknd on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, which aired late at night.

It went straight to the top of seven world charts when it came out, including the Billboard Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart at number one and the UK Dance Albums Chart at number one.

Along with their return, the group went back to the desert to play at Coachella in 2022. It only gives you a taste of what’s to come.
