After his debut album and last year’s EP on Anjunabeats, Grum returns on the label with a new stunning EP, Reconnection available here.

Graeme Shepherd, better known as Grum, is a Scotsman from Glasgow. His relationship with Anjunabeats dates back to 2015 when he was signed to the label by Above & Beyond over a glass of whisky after a show. ‘U,’ ‘Shout,’ ‘Shining,’ and ‘Price Of Love,’ to name a few, followed, as did his Anjunabeats Worldwide 07 compilation, which charted on Billboard’s Dance / Electronic Album chart.

Grum’s long-awaited artist album, “Deep State,” was a triumph and cemented Grum’s place at the forefront of progressive trance.

He has returned to his club roots with the ‘Reconnection EP,’ following his exploration of ambient and cinematic tones on the ‘Isolation EP,’ released in May 2021.

Kicking off with heavy and complex vibes on Sparkles, Grum continues mixing dreamy elements with the huge and hypnotic bassline. Invisible is the main example of this sound that seamlessly unfolds into something more melodic and ethereal, almost techno, on Mainframe. Darkmode keeps the dark and synth-driven sounds of the previous tunes adding a hopeful plucked theme on top.

On the B-side, you’ll find the already released Isolation EP, including Afterglow and all the other three records, where sounds are more intimate, hypnotic, and introspective.

After getting the ‘Isolation EP’ out of my system, I wanted to return to some proper dance music, whilst also looking to the future. Here’s a selection of tour-approved club music to lose ourselves in. – Grum
