Alignment drops thrilling new EP ‘Close Your Eyes’

The Italian supertalent returns with a new batch of futuristic trance-infused hard techno

On Friday, March 31, Charlotte de Witte’s KNTXT label released the fifth EP Shut Your Eyes from Italian techno star Alignment.

Shut Your Eyes contains four tracks of the Barcelona-based artist’s fierce industrial attack.

I really thought of the Close Your Eyes EP as a travel in my current dreams and maybe a few my nightmares as well. For this EP, I tried to combine the “original” Alignment influences with a touch of the new hard techno sounds. – Alignment

The album’s title track, “Shut Your Eyes,” erupts into a thrashing, turbo-charged pace while featuring metal textures and a warehouse ambiance. Following that is the pure evocative melodrama of “Deep Space,” which is propelled by a wave of spectral vocals and piercing synth stabs. A trance-tinged roller called “Dance For Me” ups the ante before “Fight For A New World” finishes the EP with an epic voyage to bliss.

Alignment is back, and his 5th release on the label is an absolute killer! I’ve been playing these tracks all over the world for the past couple of months and they don’t disappoint. I’m very excited to finally put them out there and have Alignment on board again! – Charlotte de Witte

Alignment, whose real name is Francesco Pierfelici and who is of Italian descent, has become an unstoppable force in the techno scene in recent years. With four prior EPs on Charlotte de Witte’s KNTXT label, including the critically acclaimed Assault from 2022, he has a remarkable assortment of influential productions. His sound contributes to the company’s commitment to musical diversity and individuality. Defining his approach as “a journey to the dark corners of one’s inner self”, Alignment’s industrial techno is reminiscent of an endless post-apocalyptic warehouse rave.

Alignment’s brand new EP ‘Close Your Eyes’ is out now on Charlotte de Witte’s imprint KNTXT.
