The single, released by SIZE Records, skilfully blends melodic and afro-house components, delivering a refreshing and deeply nostalgic sonic experience.
Initially teased as a white-label DJ promo at the 2023 Miami Music Week, “Liquid Gold” has garnered early support from a slew of renowned artists including Adam Beyer, Kevin De Vries, Adriatique, Steve Angello, Carl Craig, BLOND:ISH, Yotto, Agents of Time, and Joris Voorn.
The music radiates a rich tapestry of rhythmic blends that are sure to become a fixture in underground clubs worldwide.
“After a period of exploration and producing for others, the creation of ‘Liquid Gold’ was a big moment of realization for me,” AN21 said of the single.
It was more than a song; it was a beacon, bringing me back to my path. It became the starting point for a new path that led to ‘Alright,’ ‘No Tomorrow,’ and ‘Love’s Not Over.’ It wasn’t simply a comeback; it was a rebirth, a rediscovering of my voice and vision as an artist, with ‘Liquid Gold’ serving as the spark that rekindled the flame.”
With a deep history entwined with SIZE Records, AN21 brings new life to his 2009 legacy. His career has been both enormous and inspiring, with various milestones including Beatport’s Breakthrough of the Year award and a high rating in DJ MAG’s top 100 list.
Despite emotional and artistic hurdles, such as dealing with imposter syndrome, AN21 selected a path of self-reinvention. AN21 returned to Stockholm in 2022 to rediscover his roots and rekindle his enthusiasm for music, bringing with him additional depth, maturity, and intriguing rhythms.
